I'm not a bass player, barely a guitar player these days, but after borrowing my brother's Jazz bass off and on the last 20 years I decided to get my own. I love offset guitars and never had a Mustang so with the new hybrid p and j pickup combo in a short scale mustang bass I couldn't resist. Also bought a bass amp, a Fender Rumble 40. Sounded good in the store, but I ordered from Sweetwater.

Here is a stock pic, ordered in Sonic Blue. Yay!

Sorry I haven't been around much, life gets busy, getting old sucks, and s**t happens is all I can say. Still lurk a lot but have nothing to contribute. Glad to see you all still keeping ReRanch kicking.

I like the size of the Mustang, but not the pointy horns. Congrats on your new bass day

Very nice!

Good amp also.

I'm also mostly a guitar player, but have 3 basses in the arsenal.

Cool!

I also have to put in a plug for the Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar Bass, which can be had in a short scale also with the same pickup configuration. My bass player bought the long scale one on "what do I have to lose" grounds, and to everybody's surprise, the thing plays and sounds GREAT. At $250, they're a crazy steal for a great sounding P/J with a great neck.
