I have a MIM precision with a perfect poly finish. I love the feel of my other nitro basses, and want to know if I spray a nitro finish over the poly, will it feel the same? Thanks, Mike.

You can shoot nitro over poly, scuff and shoot. It will feel the same as your other nitro basses

I kind of want to do this over the neck of my poly Lakland bass... give it some more depth of color and a nice nitro feel.

If you are looking for a slicker feel, try burnishing the neck with an old piece of denim. Rub hard and fast, the heat buildup will help smooth out the surface for a slicker feel

Another finish option is using Truoil. I like it better than nitro, scuff and apply. Easy, durable, easily repaired, creates more depth of color and slick
