Hobbylobby has a good selection, Michaels seems to have a smaller one, but online is a few dollars cheaper per can. Here I got another coat of clear on, and put the waterslide on...there are some dust specks in the clear...but its my first guitar build..and i lightly reliced the parts so im accepting a few nicks/dings'scratches to match the 'classic player' vibe!ha

My very first car (bought in 1977) was a 69 Camaro in Fathom Green (nothing special - just a 'base' model with a 307 'smogger' in it). It had a fairly ugly light green vinyl interior, ugh. Anyway, while I didn't love the color back then, it really has grown on me over the years and I've thought about using it on a build from time to time. Now you've got me thinking about that again. Seems like it might be a resonable alternative to Sherwood Green if you want something a bit darker.
Nice job. It does look -really- good.
And I'd give anything to have that car back. _________________ Law of Logical Argument: Anything's possible if you don't know what you're talking about. |

in normal light this color is really chill...almost aged Charcoal Frost...but when light hits it you see that olive-drab+gretsch caddy green sparkle....it took me a year to pick a color for my XII project, couldnt be happier!...BTW you should build a tribute guitar in Fathom! cherish the memory _________________ all my friends are brown and red |

I'm gonna think about that.
Yours looks amazing. More 'life' in the metallic than I remember.
Looks way better to me at 51 than it did when I was 17. _________________ Law of Logical Argument: Anything's possible if you don't know what you're talking about. |

Beautiful job man. I really love the color. What did you use as a Sand and Sealer prior to the primer coats?
I'd love to do my J bass with this color. I checked out the Testors site and the color line is amazing. |

glad you like it! I have only done the headstock, so i just put white Duplicolor primer on. Im not sure if warmoth seals their necks, seems like they do...Then sanded the primer to 320, dusted the testors on at random angles about four feet out. Once i got an even color, i did a final seriously dry random dusting in short burst above the headstock and let the dust fall, this gave me a really sparkly 'tall' color coat, flakes really standing up. Locked in the color with deft....Once i did a wet coat, it was like POW! haha _________________ all my friends are brown and red |

Yeah, I remember a neck that I got from Warmoth being sealed. Not sure what they use to seal it with though. I wonder how the RR Sand and Sealer would react to the Testors paint? If anyone knows if RR Sand and Sealer is OK to use, please let me know. I'd really love to try one of the Testors colors on a J bass I'm doing. Anyway, beautiful job man, absolutely beautiful! |

one of my favorite Testors model master colors is the Diamond Green.... ...luckily they get along with Deft nitro, so i hope they work out with reranch. They are just acrylic lacquer IIRC _________________ all my friends are brown and red |
