I am looking for a Celestion V30 but 69$ seems like a better deal if they are pretty much the same thing. I know I should probably hold out and get the speakers I want, but I have heard good things about the Warehouse ones. The part that concerns me is about the fact that they say it is missing the upper mid spike. Frankly the upper mids are what attracts me to the Vintage 30. Anybody here have any experience with either V30 or both V30's?

Anytime I hear the word "spike" I always take that to have a negative meaning. IE Treble spike = Icepick.

The late Ted Weber's son who has taken over operation at Weber Speakers did mentioned Warehouse came to them about building some affordable speakers but then later Warehouse had a better price else where.

Weber just about had some relationship and dealing with all US speaker companies which includes Utah, Eminence, Warehouse and Tone Tubby to name a few.

Right but I'm not really interested in Weber's. Maybe some of the Jensen clones they have, but that stuff is too rich for my blood.

WGS speakers are good speakers... go ahead and jump on some... you won't be sorry.

I've used UK-made V30's, Chinese made V30's, the Avatar rebranded V30-- the Hellatone 60 and have a WGS right now. The WGS version definitely gets that V30 sound. I personally (obviously) really like V30 type speakers in general.
More generally about WGS, I've had a Black and Blue (Celestion Blue copy), a Green Beret (Greenback clone), and a BL80 (Lead 80 clone) and they were all well made and sounded good
