Here's the deal. I have a carved top teleish body that has cream binding . Obviously due to the title the thing is Walnut with some cool grain I might add. It needs (IMO) something to differentiate the top and back being separated by the binding.

Has anyone ever done anything in the way of a translucent finish, dye, stain with walnut? My head is seeing a dark trans finish although I have never even seen anything other than natural walnut finishes.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Here's a thread where I was wondering the same thing (natural vs. tinted). In the end, I sprayed some brown darken it up a little.

I am building two walnut Magnatone Mark 5ish guitars in walnut right now. One for a friend is likely going to be truoiled. The one for me I am going to do a metalflake black burst and natural in the center.
