Spanish Cedar back, nice clean flamey top. Its hard to catch it but it has pretty even flame all the way out to the ends.

Then just to throw a wrench in the works:

Finally got this guy ready for the spray booth last night. Very Happy

If someone matches the quality and magic ... I am there. Hasn't happened much. Wink Laughing

I'd love to ship you my current V to try out and have you give an eval... I think you would be absolutely blown away....

I am not talking about the one I JUST bought. Wink

It's beautiful!

Incidentally, I got to play a Daylighter last Thursday at Make N' Music. It was a very nice solidbody with 'buckers. What a pleasant surprise to find it there!

That's great Mike! That was one of the very limited Black Limba ones I did. Its a shame the BL is so heavy (from memory that guitar was right around 9lbs) cause of that batch (first production run) that was my favorite sounding one.

You might be impressed with mine, you might not. I have a lot of customers who sell their gibbies when they buy a guitar or two of mine BUT there are just some magical Gibson's out there.

Just like some of mine from each batch are a little better than others. Its just the way it goes.

I wish I could but nope. Montreal pretty much was my big expenditure of the year. Well that and as of today I'm 4 months booked on guitars its hard to get away again.

Here's something a little different:

hmmm... normal Daylighter HB ...

or is it?

gee thats odd

glue... indexing pins? What are those for

!! Carved maple back, 2.75" thick Daylighter HB!! The inside of both tops are carved to match their exterior carves.

So this is something I've been kicking over for a while. I had a tooling screw up (even with the CNC it still "burps" from time to time) on a hollowbody body blank I had run. I set it aside then the next day decided it was time to try the double carved top Daylighter I had been kicking around in my head. The pictures of the back don't really show it but it is carved to mirror the top. Should be interesting Very Happy
