I am modding a Squire 51 and am refinishing it in Bill's "Crown Royal Purple." I'm using a neck off of a Squire Strat with the large 70's headstock and a white pearloid pickguard. I'm usually not a fan of a matching painted headstock but I think it might look cool on this one. What do you think? I think the decal will read "Fender 51 Modcaster."

I personally like the natural tinted, with a vintage look, but thats just me but i have a strat witha matching headstock(dark purple, close to CR)
and it looks quite wonderful! Ultimately its your decision, good luck!

Matching headstock!

It's a killer color! I'm dying the maple neck a reddish orange color to go with my CRP body.

Seriously, this is a color that screams 'the gaudier the better!'

I'd normally say "Go natural" or "go amber" with the headstock..
but for CRP...Gotta do the headstock!
