I want to build another (as you can never have too many) Strat. Budget only allows for one, but I'm stuck in the middle between 2...Both happen to be John Mayer's (feel free to cringe if you dislike mayer, just don't feel the need to comment).

Black Relic...or..

Monterey Strat.

I, am no artist, however my lovely and very talented girlfriend has stepped up to the position of volunteering to do all of the Monterey's art with the hobby pens, etc.

I love both of the guitars...but I really just don't know which one I want more (again..the damn budget thing..) I don't believe the Relic would be as hard to do as the Monterey, but then again, I would only be spraying the Monterey...

UGHHH I JUST DON'T KNOW!
Help me!

I say Monterey. One of the greatest places on earth to me. When I die I want y'all to slip me outta there on a surf board at sunset. Just can't get enough of Monterey, Carmel, Big Sur, etc.- God's country IMHO man!

Cannot do that. Its a Marine Sanctuary so we can't pollute it with your dead corpse [oxymoron?] -er I mean your funeral sending out your body a fair well on a surf board. Laughing

Not to hijack or anything but I heard it was illegal to scatter cremated ashes in the ocean.
Is that true?

Neither was I..in fact I'm younger than mayer by a few years..

Guess that means I deserve it even less than he does.

Everything is legal, so long you don't get caught! Laughing

Opps, I have to comment. I like the way he plays, I like his relic Strat but either he I did not misinterpret one of his quotes but it bothered me:

[paraphrase] "I could see what Satriani is trying to get across [as a guitarist] but he does a disfavor for younger guitarists still learning..."

Now I got to find that Guitar Player Mag. what he actually said. Remember I only got a "B" in English 1B (more of literature course than an English course) so I may have misunderstood his quote.
