Do you have a touch spray gun? Spraying(feathering) a brown toner on the edge of the black you could easily achieve this finish. Smile

It looking great!

Thanks! I have the Reranch SB kit with the three color edge spray. I did one pass with that, but I'm holding off on anything more for now while I think about touching up the black edge. I'm not sure If I need to or not. I could mix up a brown toner in a preval too if needed.

OK, So I can't do a good sunburst. Mad I tried twice and I didn't like the results each time. So I went with Reranch Black.
Still deciding if I should tint the fretboard or leave it as is, and just clear it. I found the Kay Vinyl decal on-line and I still have to bury that some more in clear. A few more passes of clear overall and it's done.

These aren't the best pics-- I'll get better ones once all the clear is on.

The black looks great. I like the fretboard as is. It pops nicely in contrast.

Thanks! I 'll be happy to get this one done. It's been a year since I started on it.

It's finally done. One year and two weeks later.

Black is pretty unforgiving-- It shows everything...
I spent a lot of time buffing and polishing and it still could be better.

With a friend...

Just noticed that I can see my Blue Tele in the reflection...

The rebuilt Kay pickups have a somewhat lower output than others I have , but they sound good-- especially on the clean channel.
The pickups are really close to the strings but they don't hit, even when on the last fret.

My best guess is the guitar weighs about 7.5 pounds. I'll have to take it to work and weigh it on the shipping scale.
