I can't vote because there is no Gretsch Duo Jet to vote for!

And coming down the backstretch it looks like the Strats are in the lead, and the Tele and the Les Paul are.......well no pun intended, but "neck to neck"... Laughing

BEST vintage guitar? The one that goes places that newer models can never quite reach?

That's easy in my mind, the answer would be any 50's Les Paul from 53 to 60, those guitars have something that is almost impossible to duplicate in a modern guitar. It's in the build as well as the pickups, I'm including both the P90 and PAF versions here, I'd include the 52/early 53 ones as well, they sound just as great but some people find them tricky to play physically because of the bridge. If you haven't played a 50's Les Paul you have no idea just how great they can be.

I love Strats but to be honest I've heard lots of newer Strats that to me capture the essense of what a 50's or early 60's Strat does.

Followup would be an early blackguard Tele/Esquire or Broadcaster, they pack some serious sonic mojo and are still comparitively underpriced IMO.

Add some categories and I'll vote Very Happy . I know, I know I'm a weirdo but I have almost no interest in bone stock Strats.

I tired to revise to add categories, but the software would not let me. Sorry I could not get Gretsch and Vintage Gibby archtops in there.

Sad

Okay I voted for the Junior but not the SG. Once again I'm a wierdo, I love AC/DC but I don't like SG's, go figger. A single P90 Jr. is a friggin' rock and roll machine.
