Will regular CTS pots sold for guitar use work as AC15 vol pots?
Will they handle the current load?

My AC15 has Alpha linear vol pots. It goes from Zero to Brain May instantly. I want to replace the linear with audio taper & I have reular CTS pots in my drawer....

Schematic is here:

I think you would be OK, as long as they are the same rating, but read this first if you have the time...

Remember, amps can get pretty hot. Since pots are movable parts try to steer away from plastic shafts. I usually use CTS and Alpha, though sometimes pony up and splurge for PEC* stainless pots; here the only drawback is that stainless steel casings don't take solder, however, there are other ways to run the ground.
