I'm working up a logo for the stock of my project strat, and I have 3 choices in front of me. I have an idea of which one I want to use, but I wanted to see what you guys saw fitting with the axe, out of curiosity.

If the decal goes on the main body of the headstock?I vote 1. If it goes on the end of the HS?I vote 3.

That's a good point, and a question I didn't anticipate. It will go on the main body, where a standard "Fender" logo would go.

All of these will be 1" tall, and around 1.5" to 2" long.
