I find that 95% of the time, you can just drag a razor blade across the top of the frets, break thru the "skin" and then level and crown. The rest will come off with the crowning and polishi ...

What you want is a mid coat clear or "color blender". It's a non-cataylzed urethane. (or basically untinted urethane basecoat). You can mix transtints in this just fine.

If it were me, I wouldn't try urethane over nitro just trying to save the guy from some headaches in the future.

I'd do Ice Blue Metallic and then just blue transtint for the burst (or blue candy). Why reinvent the wheel, you've already got the metallic in the first coat Wink
